Research Interests

Xinyan Pei’ s current interests include experimental studies on combustion of heavy fuel oil in a swirling flame and low sulfur fuel, properties of emulsion fuel, auto-ignition non-premixed combustion in laminar and turbulent flow under high pressure. The pollutant emission, such as soot, cenosphere and NOx is emphasized in these studies. The previous research was based on the application of active fuel cooling technology in aero-engine and focused on the heat exchange characteristics, carbon deposition properties, multi-phases flow and thermal stability of the supercritical jet fuel.
