Research Interests

My primary research interests include soot measurements in flames via intrusive and non-intrusive techniques. We currently concluded centerline soot particle size distribution measurements on an diluted ethylene turbulent diffusion flame at Re=10000 using a scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS). Planned future work includes optical thickness measurements and thermophoretic sampling of soot particles from the same canonical flame to obtain detailed morphological parameters. I am also building a setup to observe the effect of pressure on laminar flame velocity measurements in stratified mixtures representative of SI engine conditions. Flame velocities using dual-fuel will also be explored.
